Today, the Geology Today Minerals and Fossils Explained 2012 Online Event closes. Looking back over the past two weeks, the organizers have been very happy with the level of interest that you have all shown during the event.
The scientific organizers as well as representatives from of the Geological Society, the Geologists’ Association and Wiley-Blackwell have all worked hard to produce this event, but the ones that have made it such a big success – are you!
The sheer number of people that have signed up as delegates – 1,406 in total – have overwhelmed us, and the activity and the lively discussions that have taken place tells us that you have enjoyed yourselves as much as we have.
The material that we presented to you during the past two weeks is only a small selection of the content available in Geology Today which is current as well as curriculum oriented. We certainly did not find room for all the articles from the Minerals Explained and Fossils Explained series in the program of this event.
However, even though we could only present you with selected articles from these series, we have produced two virtual issues which collect together online all the Minerals Explained and Fossils Explained articles that have been published in Geology Today over the years. They can be found on the Geology Today homepages on Wiley Online Library. Please visit them here:
We hope you have found the Geology Today Minerals and Fossils Explained 2012 Online Event productive, and that you will remember Geology Today as a source of interesting and engaging news and information on geological and palaeontological material. We are looking forward to seeing more of you in the future!
